On Jan 08, 2018, Prof.Wu won the National Natural Science Award (2 class, Program: Basic Research on Preparation and Application of High-Quality Graphene Materials; Full recipients: Wencai Ren, Hui-Ming Cheng, Zongping Chen, Zhong-Shuai Wu, Libo Gao), for his outstanding scientific achievements of graphene research during his Ph.D (2007-2011), supervised by Prof.Hui-Ming Cheng and Prof.Wencai Ren at Institute for Metal Research, CAS.
